About

José Peña Loyola joined Focused Inquiry in fall 2024 as a Post Doctoral Teaching Fellow. He is a writer and educator from Quito, Ecuador. He has taught Spanish, Media Theory, Film, and Creative Writing at various universities. His work on film and visual arts has been featured in multiple digital publications, and in 2023, he published La Montaña y sus Oficios. Currently, his research and writing focus on the formation of discourses, images, and affects related to mountains and the Andean landscape.
