About
Julianne McCobin joined Focused Inquiry as a Postdoctoral Teaching Fellow in fall 2024. Her dissertation, “Feeling Impersonal,” examined how famously “cool” female prose stylists, such as Susan Sontag, theorize and play with questions of gender, selfhood, and feeling on the page. Julianne’s writing has appeared in The Journal of West Indian Literature, Post45 contemporaries, The Point and elsewhere. In her teaching, she aims to provide students with the resources and knowledge they need to navigate academia and succeed both inside and outside of the classroom.
